This lightweight, sterile, inert material is suitable as a cover on seed beds and trays. Vermiculite helps maintain a higher humidity for seeds sown shallow on the surface (e.g., begonia, impatiens). Prevent seeds from drying out and protect "surface seeding seeds" from the birds.
