Ocimum basilicum
Very aromatic, bushy annual with branching stems that bare tender, light green, oval leaves with slightly toothed margins. Seed can be sown indoors in late spring ready to plant outside in early summer, or when the soil has warmed.
Thrives in rich, well-drained soil in a sunny, sheltered position. Mist the leaves and water frequently in hot weather.
