Hibiscus esculentus
One of those vegetables which people either love or hate. The slender, tapering pods are emerald green and grow between 7cm - 20cm long. They contain small, round white seeds and have a slightly furry exterior with distinctive ridges that run from the stalk to the tip.
Pods are best eaten in the early stages (around 7cm). Okra is related to the Hibiscus family and the plant can grow up to 200cm!
